VEGA International Friendship Regatta

2002 15 - 20 July 2002 Egå Marina, Århus, Denmark

Dear Vega Friends!

At the VODA meeting at Hoorn, the Netherlands, the Danish Vega Association was asked to arrange the IFR 2002 and we are pleased to tell you all that we are now working on this arrangement.

We have found a nice host marina, EGÅ MARINA, in the beautiful Århus Bay (East Jutland) where a nice harbour-master and a helpful yacht club will do their very best to make the regatta an exciting event for all the Vega participants.

The Preliminary Programme of the IFR 2002 in Egå will be as follows:

Monday 15.7. Registration - Welcome reception.

Tuesday 16.7. Excursion by bus to the frigate "Jylland" in Ebeltoft.

Wednesday 17.7. Racing on the Århus Bay - Barbecue in the evening.

Thursday 18.7. Racing and entertainment in the evening.

Friday 19.7. A visit to the open-air museum "The Old Town" in Århus. Regatta Dinner in the evening.

Saturday 20.7. Closing ceremony in the morning.

The participation fee will be approx. DKK 1.200 (£100) for each boat including harbour fees for five days. Not included are the fees for the above-mentioned events. These fees will be reasonable and will be printed on the final entry form, which we intend to send out in December 2001.
